Airdri Quest Airdri, the very successful UK-based manufacturer of hand dryers, have been going through a number of changes recently, which include moving production abroad, implementing changes in management and introducing new models to the range.

All of these changes are in all probability going to improve things for everyone concerned, and are all viewed as extremely positive, but there is one change which may bring some confusion in the short term: they have changed the names of all the existing models in the Airdri range.

So to make sure there is as little confusion as possible, this short article explains exactly what has changed.

As will be very obvious, the entire range all starts with the letter ‘Q’, and what is very exciting (sorry, but as you know, we do get excited by things like this), there are now 2 new models in the range: we’ll be creating separate review articles for both of these in the near future.

Old name:  The Airdri Contour

New name: The Airdri Quote

As the entry level dryer, this quiet (65dBA) dryer has a 24 second dry time and power consumption of 1.6kW.

Old name:  The Airdri Classic

New name: The Airdri Quarto

The robust, vandal-resistant hand (and face) dryer has always been popular, but just because of the confusion its name causes with the next dryer on this list, we are not sorry to see it changed!

Old name: The Airdri Classic+ Mk II

New name: The Airdri Quartz

Phew! Thank goodness they’ve changed that name! Great dryer, but it’s never been a great name. Good to see it renamed to the Quartz – sounds much more sensible.

Old name: The Airdri Elite

New name: the Airdri Quad

The last of the previous models to be renamed, the ultra slim Quad (it is just 100mm deep – that’s the same as the Dyson V dryer) was previously the newest addition to the airdri range, and has proven popular.

Airdri Quest New dryer: The Airdri Quest

You’ll see a fuller summary of this from us shortly in a review we have planned, but it looks an exceptionally well designed hand dryer, and scores well on all the important scales of power consumption, noise (as you would expect) and drying time. It looks like being another winner from Airdri.

New dryer: The Airdri Quazar

The Quazar is the new top-of-the range product for Airdri, and is a slim, powerful dryer which we are looking forward to reviewing in the next few weeks – watch this space!
