About McAlpine Parts

McAlpine is a long-established British manufacturer of plumbing waste fittings, best known in the trade for its traps, WC pan connectors and sink waste systems used across domestic and commercial installations. Because these fittings sit at the point where pipework meets the appliance, getting the right size, seal type and connector format matters for a leak-free, code-compliant install — whether that's replacing a perished trap, swapping in a flexible pan connector on a tricky refit, or fitting a self-closing tundish for a boiler discharge.

Other products we sell at EDD that pair with McAlpine parts can be found in our McAlpine Filters, boiling tap parts and HVAC and heating parts ranges.

Common McAlpine Parts We Stock

  • WC pan connectors — rigid and flexible Macfit and standard connectors in straight and 90° angled formats, including extended-inlet and adjustable-length options to suit different pan-to-soil-pipe distances
  • Bottle traps — basin and sink bottle traps in 1¼" and 1½" sizes, in standard and adjustable-inlet versions
  • P traps — swivel P traps for standard basin and sink waste runs
  • Sink waste kits — bowl-and-a-half and double bowl plumbing kits with the connecting nozzles needed for multi-bowl sink installs
  • Waste valves — space-saving self-closing basin waste valves for tight under-basin fitting
  • Seals & tundishes — twin-nozzle seals and self-closing valve tundishes, commonly used on boiler and appliance discharge points

How to Find the Right McAlpine Part

McAlpine parts are matched to pipe size and connection type, so start by measuring the waste or inlet diameter (typically 1¼" or 1½" on traps) and checking whether you need a rigid or flexible connector for the WC pan-to-soil-pipe run. Adjustable-length and extended-inlet variants exist to cope with awkward offsets, so measure the actual distance and angle before ordering rather than assuming a standard length will do. If you're not sure which part fits your installation, use our Can't Identify Your Spare Part? service, or send our trade counter team the model number or a photo of the old component and we'll match it for you.

McAlpine Parts — Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a bottle trap and a P trap?

A bottle trap uses a removable canister to hold the water seal and is easier to clean out, while a P trap uses a curved pipe section. Both are available from McAlpine in 1¼" and 1½" sizes to suit basins and sinks.

Do you stock both rigid and flexible WC pan connectors?

Yes — we carry rigid Macfit and standard connectors for straightforward runs, plus flexible connectors for awkward offsets where a fixed-angle rigid piece won't fit.

What sizes of McAlpine trap do you stock?

Our range covers 1¼" traps for basins and 1½" traps for sinks, in both standard and adjustable-inlet versions to suit different waste positions.

Can I use a McAlpine tundish for a boiler discharge?

Our MACTUN-1 tundish comes with a self-closing valve and is a common fitting for boiler and appliance discharge points, but always check it matches your system's discharge pipe specification before fitting.

Do you also stock McAlpine water filters?

Yes — McAlpine filters are a separate range from the waste and drainage parts here; you'll find them in our McAlpine Filters section under Water Filters.
