Electric Boilers

The term Electric Water Boilers covers a very wide range of appliances, from large hot water cylinders to small undersink units and from combi boilers to instantaneous water heaters. To help you find exactly the right appliance, we've separated these out into the main categories below.  You can also use our friendly online Product Advisor which will guide you through a number of straightforward questions and show you a list of suitable appliances.

Electric Combi Boilers, Flow Boilers, and System Boilers

There are a number of different possibilities you can consider if you need an electric boiler for your hot water and/or central heating.

As well as choosing the right type of boiler (for example electric combi boilers are better suited to smaller homes) you also need to make sure you select a boiler with the right capacity. There is nothing worse than investing in a new boiler and running out of hot water halfway through your shower, or finding that not all your radiators are getting hot.

Hot Water Cylinders

Electric hot water cylinders are becoming more and more popular, especially as solar panels or other renewable heat sources are added to properties: your water cylinder is an excellent way to store the energy created until it is needed.

To be sure you are buying a cylinder which is the right type (i.e. direct or indirect) and of the right capacity (so you are not wasting energy by heating water you don't need - or conversely running out of water in your shower), you can use our product advisor for hot water cylinders by clicking below:

On-Wall Electric Boilers

Wall-mounted units often sit under basins or in cupboards - providing stored hot water to one or more sinks. Used extensively in commercial washrooms or kitchens, they are also great for home extensions or garages where they can save considerable money compared with extending your existing hot water system.

You may also want to consider an instantaneous heater - see further down the page for that.

Instantaneous (Tankless) Water Heaters

Instantaneous water heaters sound like the perfect water heater - limitless hot water on demand, no wait time, no water stored, compact and easy to install.

All of this is true, but there are also some limitations, such as the number of simultaneous outlets, proximity to the outlet, and the need for its own cable from the consumer unit.

To make sure they will fit the requirement you have in mind, why not run through the Product Advisor to help you choose the most appropriate appliance by clicking on the image below:
