Finding the right part
Check the model and serial number, usually on a label inside the cover or on the underside of the unit. You will normally need the security screwdriver or Allen key supplied at installation to open it. Several manufacturers have revised internal components across model runs without changing the outer casing, so matching by model number alone can return a part that does not fit. Where you can, cross-check against the number on the failed component itself. Motors in particular are specific to the model and generation and are not interchangeable.
