It seems several of the hand dryer suppliers to the UK market are keen to come out with something slightly different to get an edge over the competition, and that is certainly Biodrier’s aim with the new G-Wave.
For a start, it looks different, because it is technically a ‘hands-under’ hand dryer, yet it has a drip tray in the base of the machine. Perhaps we shouldn’t be too surprised about this, for 2 reasons – one is that Biodrier already have a pretty extensive product range, and so there is little room for any type of ‘me-too’ model; but the other is that out of all the manufacturers, only Biodrier currently supply both extensive ranges of hands-under AND hands-in dryers (although technically Dyson are also in that category now, with the addition of the Dyson V), so perhaps they are the logical supplier of this rather innovative design which tries to retain the advantages of both types of dryer.
On paper, this hand dryer does look very impressive: it covers all the bases it needs to in terms of speed, efficiency and noise, as you can see from this set of highlights:
- Drying time: “Under 10 seconds”
- Switchable 2-speed motor – either 700W or 1200W
- No heating element, 35000rpm motor
- Decibel rating: 58 – 80 dba @ 1m
But on top of that, it goes a step further, with these features;
- Air freshening gels actually freshen the air each time the dryer is used

- Customizable front covers can be supplied printed with your company logo, or an image or message: exact costings were being worked out for this as we published this, but they will not be excessive, and the minimum quantities are low).
- Maintenance of the HEPA filter and drip tray is simple: there are warning lights on the front of the unit which indicate when this should be done.
In practice, having used it, I can tell you that it certainly works well: the motor is more than capable of blasting your hands dry in around the claimed 10-second dry time. Seeing the unit on a wall, with the ledge underneath, I think some people will love and others won’t, but overall I think Biodrier are on to a winner with the G-Wave. They have certainly managed to turn the other models in their range into successes in what is a very competitive market, and I don’t doubt they will do the same with this.
The G-Wave is available from Electrical Deals Direct starting at £362 ex-VAT, and is covered by the usual Electrical Deals Direct price guarantee. We think it’s going to be a winner.
