The Glow-Worm 20014160 Sensor NTC DHW Outlet Pipe is a genuine Glow-Worm spare part that functions as a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor located in the domestic hot water (DHW) outlet pipe of compatible combi and system boilers. NTC thermistors decrease their electrical resistance as temperature increases; this property enables the boiler’s printed circuit board (PCB) to interpret the changing resistance as a precise measure of the water temperature. When hot water is drawn from a tap or shower, the sensor monitors the outlet temperature and relays this to the PCB, which then adjusts burner output and water flow to maintain the user’s desired hot water temperature efficiently and safely. This particular thermistor fits models such as Ultrapower, CXI, Ultracom, Flexicom, and Eden boilers, ensuring correct temperature sensing for DHW demand.
