The Glow-Worm 20152564 Electrode Kit is designed to serve two essential functions within the gas combustion process of compatible Glow-Worm boilers: ignition and flame sensing. The ignition electrode produces the high-voltage spark that initiates combustion when the boiler calls for heat or hot water, while the flame-sensing probe verifies that a stable flame has been established in the burner. If flame presence is not detected after ignition, the boiler’s control system will automatically shut down the gas supply to prevent unsafe conditions, such as unburnt gas buildup. This dual-role design is vital for both efficient boiler performance and user safety, because it prevents the boiler from supplying gas when it isn’t burning properly.
