Dropping paper towels removes the cost, the restocking and the mess on the floor. The risk is trading those problems for different ones, and in a pub there are really only two.
The first is noise. A pub washroom is usually a few feet from the bar or the restaurant floor, and a dryer at the top of this range is loud enough to carry through the door. The second is abuse. Pub washrooms take harder wear than almost anywhere else, and a unit that fails in year two of a five year warranty is a purchase made twice.
Style is a real consideration here as well, more than it is in an office. A cosmopolitan wine bar and a Sunday carvery are not making the same decision.
If the washroom is close to the bar
The Mitsubishi Jet Towel Smart is 58dB and dries in 9 seconds, the quietest and the fastest combination on the page, on 660W and a 6 year warranty. Nothing else here manages quiet and quick together. The wider quiet hand dryers range has more options.
If it takes a beating
Warranty is the most honest guide to build, because the manufacturer carries the risk. The Dryflow Infinity carries 10 years, with a HEPA filter and 154 m/s at 72dB. The Dryflow Turboforce carries 7 years, and the JetDri Mark II 5 years at a lower price.
If it is the throughput that matters
At last orders the queue is the problem. The JETBOX Blade moves air at 201 m/s, the fastest we stock, and holds 70dB because the hands-in casing contains the sound. Worth avoiding at the other end: the cheapest units on this page take 30 seconds, which is how a queue forms.
