The Reliance PTEM540015 temperature and pressure relief (TPR) valve is designed for use in unvented hot water systems, providing essential safety protection by relieving excess temperature and pressure within the cylinder. Featuring a 1/2" male BSP inlet and 15mm compression outlet, along with a 95mm probe, this valve is calibrated to operate at 4.5 bar and is constructed with a durable brass body for long-term reliability.
TPR valves are critical safety components in unvented systems, automatically discharging water when temperature or pressure exceeds safe operating limits, helping to prevent system damage or hazardous failure. The integrated temperature probe responds to rising water temperatures, typically activating around 90–95°C, while the pressure mechanism ensures excess pressure is safely released. Over time, valves can degrade due to scale, wear, or repeated operation, which may lead to leaks or reduced performance. Replacing a faulty valve restores system safety and ensures compliance with installation standards. Installation must always be carried out by a qualified professional in accordance with current regulations.
