This gas valve modulation unit holds the correct pressures, guarantees correct turn-off and turn-on, and is a critical element in correct combustion and efficient boiler performance. Specifically, when this unit begins to go faulty, symptoms can include the burner not igniting, unusual flame behaviour, ignition routines not being followed, and gas or flame-related errors. Installation is a critical element in this unit’s operation, given its use in directly supplying gas to the burner, in that it has to be done by a qualified heating professional, the system has to be isolated from gas service, torque and gas sealing have to be ensured, and operational gas tightness and flame action checked after the installation has taken place. It is a compact unit that has a relatively high cost when compared to other parts, but this is merely a result of the fact that it plays a complex role in the boiler.
In summary, if servicing a Vaillant boiler of the compatible series and you’re experiencing burner instability, gas‐valve fault codes, or erratic flame presence, replacing the gas valve section with the correct part number 0020148382 is a professional, dependable repair choice that restores the intended gas flow control and returns the boiler to safe, efficient operation.
