The Ariston 60000867-01 is a genuine replacement ionisation electrode for the Clas HE, E-Combi EVO, E-System, and Genus HE boiler ranges. This part supersedes the earlier 60000867. The ionisation electrode (also called the flame sensing or detection electrode) confirms that combustion has been successfully established after ignition. It works by detecting the small electrical current conducted through the flame. If no current is detected, the boiler's control board interprets this as an ignition failure and locks out. Common fault symptoms include repeated lockouts after apparent ignition, or the boiler cycling on and off rapidly. The ionisation and ignition electrodes (60000867-01 and 60000868-01) are routinely replaced as a pair during a full service. Installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
This is the correct replacement when the boiler is igniting but immediately shutting off, showing flame‑loss lockouts, or reporting ionisation/FD errors.
