Tesla Parts & Spare Parts

Electrical Deals Direct supplies genuine Tesla immersion heaters, thermostats and complete heater-and-thermostat units for hot water cylinders. Order online with trade pricing, fast dispatch and expert phone support from a team who know cylinder servicing and replacement inside out.

About Tesla Parts

Tesla UK is a plumbing and heating manufacturer with over 20 years' experience designing, developing and distributing immersion heaters, thermostats and related cylinder accessories. Its immersion heaters are manufactured and approved to EN 60335-2-73, and the range covers copper, Incoloy and titanium elements to suit different water hardness levels and cylinder materials. Because an immersion heater and its thermostat are safety and performance-critical components on a hot water cylinder, choosing the right element material and length — and the correct thermostat pocket for your cylinder — matters as much as matching the wattage.

Common Tesla Parts We Stock

  • Dual safety rod thermostats — standalone control and overheat protection thermostats in 7", 11" and 18" lengths for immersion heaters and cylinders
  • Incoloy immersion heaters & thermostats (complete units) — Incoloy elements with copper or all-Incoloy thermostat pockets, in 11" and 27" lengths, for moderate to hard water areas
  • Incoloy immersion heaters (element only) — 3kW Incoloy elements in 11" and 14" lengths with 1¾" thread, for replacing the heating element on its own
  • Titanium immersion heaters — 3kW titanium elements in 14" length with 1¾" thread, for hard to very hard water areas where corrosion resistance matters most

How to Find the Right Tesla Part

Tesla immersion heaters are matched by element material, length and thread size, so start with your local water hardness: Incoloy elements are recommended for moderate to hard water, while titanium is advised for hard to very hard water, as it resists calcification and corrosion for longer. Check the boss thread size on your cylinder (commonly 1¾" or 2¼" BSP) and measure the existing element's length before ordering a direct replacement. If your cylinder is stainless steel, use an Incoloy or titanium element with an Incoloy or stainless steel thermostat pocket rather than copper, as copper components can cause an electrolytic reaction and corrosion in a stainless tank. If you're not sure which part you need, use our Can't Identify Your Spare Part? service, or send our trade counter team the model number or a photo of the old component and we'll match it for you.

Tesla Parts — Frequently Asked Questions

Should I choose an Incoloy or titanium immersion heater?

Incoloy elements suit moderate to hard water areas, while titanium is recommended for hard to very hard water, since it resists limescale build-up and corrosion better over time. Check your local water hardness if you're unsure which to fit.

Can I fit a copper immersion heater in a stainless steel cylinder?

No — fitting copper parts inside a stainless steel cylinder can cause an electrolytic reaction leading to corrosion. Stainless steel cylinders should use an Incoloy or titanium element with an Incoloy or stainless steel thermostat pocket instead.

What's the difference between a "complete unit" and an element-only immersion heater?

Complete units, such as the TIH540 or TIH650, include both the heating element and the thermostat in one assembly. Element-only options are for replacing just the heater where the existing thermostat is being kept or replaced separately.

How do I measure up for a replacement Tesla thermostat?

Measure the length of your existing rod thermostat and check the boss thread size on the immersion heater it's fitted to, then match against our TS220 (7"), TS225 (11") and TS230 (18") options.

Are Tesla immersion heaters covered by a guarantee?

Yes — Tesla immersion heaters typically come with a manufacturer's guarantee, though faults caused by incorrect fitting, unsuitable water conditions or misuse aren't covered. Fit the correct element type for your water hardness to get the best lifespan from the unit.
