The Glow-Worm Flow Switch S801189 is a spare part designed for use in compatible Glow-Worm boilers as part of the central heating and/or hot water flow system. The Glow-Worm Flow Switch S801189 is a spare part designed for use in compatible Glow-Worm boilers as part of the central heating and/or hot water flow system. Functioning as a flow-activated sensor, this switch sits inline within the boiler’s water circuit and constantly monitors the movement of water through the system. When the system demands heat or hot water and the pump activates, the flow switch detects this motion and sends a signal back to the boiler’s printed circuit board (PCB). Only once proper flow is confirmed will the PCB allow the ignition sequence to proceed, preventing the burner from firing under low-flow or dry conditions, which can otherwise lead to overheating, component stress, or premature failure. This makes the flow switch crucial both for system safety and consistent performance.
