What Floor Area Do You Need to Heat?
Adding up the floor space of all the rooms you wish to heat with your wet underfloor heating system will give you the number you need to compare with the options above.
As with most things, this is not an exact science, and it should be noted that if the pipes are being laid on a concrete floor, the power requirement will be about 25% higher than if the floor is wooden.
If in any doubt, it is always best to overestimate the requirement, since a higher-powered boiler will not use any more power overall than a smaller boiler (since it will be in use for less time) but it will give you the advantage of quicker warm-up times and will not be on for as a long periods: it will therefore be more likely to have a longer serviceable life.
