Electric Combi Boilers
Electric combi boilers are very similar to gas combi boilers, but the differences are often misunderstood. And they are such expensive and important appliances that it is important to understand exactly what these differences are.
The term ‘combi’ means that they are one combined boiler which both heats the water coming out of your taps, and the hot water in your radiators. Anyone familiar with gas combi boilers will know that the hot water for your taps is always heated ‘on demand’, rather than being stored in a tank – BUT THIS IS NOT always the case with electric combi boilers.
There are several electric versions available now: ideal for installations where gas is either unavailable or not the preferred heat source. As they have become more popular, so better and smarter designs have been incorporated into the new models. Here are our recommendations:
Small home, 1 shower, no bath, up to 6 or 8 radiators: The Aztec Mini Combi
Small home, 1 shower, with a bath, up to 6 or 8 radiators: The Aztec Combi
2 – 3 bed home, a bath, radiators: Heatrae Sadia Electromax
3 – 4 bed home, the Advance Appliances ECB210
