The Ideal 173511 Detection Lead is specified wiring harness used to connect the flame detector (often a flame probe or ionisation sensor) to the boiler’s control electronics. Its purpose is to carry the very low-level electrical signal generated by the flame sensor, enabling the boiler’s control board to verify that the burner has successfully lit and is producing a stable flame.
