This precision‑manufactured lead plays a crucial role in the flame detection process by carrying the electrical signal from the flame sensor (ionisation or flame probe) back to the boiler’s main control board.
In modern gas‑fired boilers, accurate flame detection is essential for safety and performance. When the burner ignites, the flame sensor generates a small electrical current that must be transmitted cleanly and reliably to the boiler’s control electronics. The detection lead acts as that vital link — providing a stable, interference‑resistant path for this signal so the control board can confirm the presence of a genuine flame. If the board does not receive the right signal, it will shut down gas flow immediately to prevent unsafe conditions.
