The Ideal 176865 Expansion Vessel Kit is a replacement part designed to manage the natural increase in water volume and pressure that occurs when a central heating system heats up. It consists of a sealed, pressure‑rated vessel that is divided internally by a flexible diaphragm: one side is charged with gas (typically air or nitrogen), and the other side is connected to the boiler’s internal heating circuit.
