The Intergas 801537 is a genuine Siemens TQG43 Smart Ignition Module, designed for use across the Intergas HRE Compact and Combi Compact boiler range. Replacing the earlier part number 801487, this is the current approved ignition module for later ErP-compliant Intergas boilers and works exclusively in conjunction with the Siemens Smart Gas Valve (Intergas part number 801597). These two components form a matched pair — the ignition module and the smart gas valve are designed to communicate with each other directly, and the 801537 will not function correctly with any earlier Intergas gas valve. The ignition module sits at the heart of the boiler's combustion control system. Each time the boiler receives a demand for heat or hot water, it is the ignition module that manages the ignition sequence, energising the ignition electrode to generate a spark, proving the flame once the burner has lit, and signalling back to the boiler's PCB that safe combustion has been established. If at any point during this sequence the module cannot prove a stable flame, it will shut the gas valve and lock the boiler out, preventing unsafe operation. This is a safety-critical function that must work reliably every single time the boiler fires. A failing or failed ignition module typically presents as a boiler that attempts to fire, sparks at the electrode, but then locks out without establishing a flame, or a boiler that lights briefly and then drops out before the flame is fully proven.
