The Intergas 86514 is a genuine small black Viton front plate seal, designed specifically for Intergas 24kW boilers. This is the current approved replacement seal, superseding the older red silicone version previously listed under part number 876467, and forms part of the same Intergas improvement programme that updated the seal specification across their entire boiler range.
Sitting in the recess on the rear face of the boiler's front plate, this seal forms a critical gas-tight barrier between the combustion chamber and the surrounding heat exchanger components. Its job is to ensure that combustion gases, including potentially dangerous carbon monoxide, stay fully contained within the heat exchanger and are expelled safely through the flue system. When this seal deteriorates or loses its elasticity, flue gases can escape into areas of the boiler where they should never be, creating a serious safety hazard and triggering persistent fault codes that leave the boiler locked out and the homeowner without heat or hot water.

An Important Upgrade:
Following a safety review in 2017, Intergas upgraded all front plate seals across their boiler range from red silicone to black Viton. The black Viton material is significantly more resistant to the high temperatures and combustion gases generated inside the heat exchanger, and delivers a longer, more reliable service life. The 86514 is the only currently approved seal for 24kW models, and any red silicone seal found during a service visit must be replaced with this genuine black Viton version immediately.
Intergas Servicing Requirements:
Intergas specify that the black Viton front plate seal must be replaced every two years as a minimum, or sooner if any signs of wear, compression, or damage are found during inspection. This is a more frequent replacement interval than many other service items, reflecting how safety-critical this component is. Engineers servicing Intergas boilers should always carry the correct size seal for the models on their run to avoid unnecessary return visits.
