Damage Controls & Cut-Outs
Damage Controls are designed for water heaters to help offer some safety controls or damage minimisation for the water heater. Often, when water heaters are installed, the average user in the household would not have the qualifications to be able to directly diagnose issues that can occur in water heaters. Thermal cut-outs f.e, are designed to automatically switch off the heater and water supply, ensuring things like pressure or temperature cannot go above/below safe levels.
Typically, these controls would detect the issue, then apply some stop or shut down of power/water/heating element, preventing additional damage from any issues as they come up. This also helps a user or an installer quickly identify the issue, as often these controls and cutouts offer a manual/electrical signal of some sort pointing to the error.
