The Vaillant 0020020018 DHW Heat Exchanger (13 Plates) is a replacement unit engineered to suit certain Vaillant condensing boiler models. Its function within the boiler is to transfer heat from the primary heating circuit into the domestic hot-water system: water from the boiler passes through the exchanger’s plates, gets heated, and then moves on to supply taps and showers. With 13 individual plates, this exchanger provides a balanced design—large enough to deliver efficient hot-water output but compact enough to fit within space-limited boiler housings. The plate-style construction (as opposed to a large coil or shell‐and‐tube design) allows for efficient heat transfer, reduced energy losses, and minimal scale or sediment buildup when correctly maintained.
