The Dyson Airblade AB08 takes the 'Airblade' technology used by Dyson in their 'hands-in' dryer and packages it in a very slim wall mounted 'Hands-under' unit, to deliver their fast, stylish hand-drying experience to an even greater market. Price-wise, it still ranks as one of the most expensive units on the market, even though it is more than £150 cheaper than its 'hands-in' relative, the AB14.
Its distinctive style and slim design (it is one a very small number of hand dryers which protrude just 100mm from the wall) along with the Dyson pedigree ensure that it will remain a popular dryer, and of course because of its fast drying time and distinctive 'blade' action, it will remain a favourite with many. The power consumption, at 1.6kW was groundbreaking when the Airblade was first introduced, but unfortunately nowadays ranks as fairly high amongst modern dryers (more and more dryers are appearing around the 500W mark, i.e. less than a third of this unit) although it is still low enough to make the annual running costs (at 200 uses per day) pretty insignificant, at well under 10% of the purchase price.
