smart 2 New models of hand dryer appear on a regular basis, but the vast majority are just rebadged versions of existing models made by anonymous Chinese manufacturers. The launch of the new Mitsubishi Jet Towel Smart is something all-together different.

Firstly, remember that it was Mitsubishi who invented the blade dryer in the first place – before Dyson made it popular – and they have been refining their “hands-in” model ever since. And it is also important to understand that until now, Mitsubishi have not produced anything (worth talking about) that is a ‘hands-under’ dryer.

The Mitsubishi Jet Towel Smart has changed all that – it is a brand new, Mitsubishi-designed, Mitsubishi-manufactured hand dryer which (we believe) is about to become one of the most popular dryers in the UK. Here’s why:

It works. And then some.

A hand drying time as low as 9 seconds, an extremely powerful ‘blade’, and it is just the right distance from the wall to stop you banging your fingers.

It is efficient.

Not just efficient, it has the LOWEST POWER CONSUMPTION OF ANY SERIOUS HAND DRYER. High power, and heater on, it is still less than 1.0kW – and at its most frugal, it is just 480 watts! Compare the Mitsubishi Jet Towel Smart with the Dyson V at 1.6kW and in a heavy usage area, the savings will mount up.

It is quiet.

Although we don’t pay much attention to the Mitsubishi decibel ratings (they take measurements from 2 metres rather than 1 metre like everyone else so the comparisons are not fair) – we do know that this is not a loud dryer compared to either the Dyson or the XLerator.

It is stylish.

Well, let’s face it, a hand dryer is unlikely to be a work of art, but the new Mitsubishi hand dryer does have that ‘executive’ look to it – it will go well in any high class washroom.

It is expertly engineered.

Mitsubishi are good at ‘attention to detail’! The air intake is at the side, not underneath, so it doesn’t just recycle the germ and moisture-laden air back on your hands, and the reaction time of the sensor/motor is virtually instant (0.1 secs). smart1

Now, bear in mind that we sell hundreds of different types of hand dryer, and rarely develop any particular allegiance to any particular brand but I can honestly tell you that this is an outstanding hand dryer: It is probably the best ‘executive’ hands-under dryer we have seen, yet its price will not break the bank.

In fact, we think it only has one serious rival, and that is the Dyson Airblade V (the Dyson AB08 or AB12), but it is more efficient and a great deal cheaper, yet still carries off the ‘Executive’ look.
