Following on from the success of the 'hands-in' hand dryer (the AB14) Dyson have now produced the 'V' dryer, which is a 'hands-under' model. This uses the same 'blade of air' concept to wipe the water from your hands, but is a much smaller unit. Designed to be as slim as possible, it protrudes just 100mm from the wall enabling it to qualify for the ADA specification in the US.

The update to the HU02 model has introduced a lower energy consumption motor - requiring just 1000w - and a drying time of 10 - 12 seconds. This new motor brings a reduction of 35% in the noise level, by using thinner blades of air: this is enough for this model to have been awarded the 'Quiet Mark' .

The Dyson Airblade V does not have a separate heating element: instead heat generated from the motor provides warmth for the air. The Dyson HEPA air filter ensures that 99.9% of bacteria and viruses are cleansed from the air before being blown onto your hands, allowing Dyson to claim that the Airblades are the 'most hygienic hand dryers available'.
