Genuine Cimm ERE CE 24 24 Litre Expansion Vessel
Genuine Cimm ERE CE 24 24 litre expansion vessel for sealed central heating and chilled water circuits, with a 3/4" BSP male connection and a 1.5 bar factory pre-charge. Supplied with a mounting bracket and a sealed system kit.
What it does
Water expands as it is heated, and in a sealed heating circuit that expansion has nowhere to go, so pressure rises until the safety valve lifts. The vessel takes up the extra volume against a pre-charged air cushion and holds system pressure steady. The ERE uses a fixed rubber diaphragm rather than an interchangeable bag, designed to hold its air pre-charge at the higher temperatures a heating circuit sees. A vessel that has lost its charge is the usual reason a boiler keeps losing pressure or dumping through the relief valve.
