The Grant VBS03 Turbulator is a genuine Grant OEM spare part specifically designed for the higher-output end of the Grant Vortex oil boiler range. Sold individually, this 476mm baffle insert is the longer of the two standard Grant turbulator sizes and is sized precisely for the larger heat exchanger flue ways found in the 46–70kW models — making correct part identification essential before ordering.
Compatible with the Grant Vortex Pro 46–70kW and Vortex Boiler House 46–70kW, the VBS03 turbulator works by creating turbulence and resistance in the flow of hot combustion gases through the heat exchanger, slowing their passage and maximising the transfer of heat to the system water. This directly supports the boiler's rated thermal efficiency and helps keep flue gas temperatures within the parameters set by Grant's design specification. Always confirm compatibility against the boiler's service manual or Grant spares catalogue before fitting.
As a genuine Grant component, the VBS03 is manufactured to the precise dimensions and material tolerances of the factory-fitted original, ensuring a correct installation and reliable service life. At 476mm in length and 22mm in depth, it is not interchangeable with the shorter VBS05 360mm turbulator used in lower-output Vortex models, and using the incorrect size will compromise both efficiency and combustion performance.
Turbulators should be inspected at every annual oil boiler service and replaced if showing signs of distortion, corrosion, carbon build-up, or physical damage. A degraded or missing turbulator on a high-output boiler will result in measurably poorer heat transfer, elevated flue gas temperatures, increased fuel consumption, and potential sooting of the heat exchanger — all of which will be apparent during a thorough OFTEC-standard service check.
