The MZ770S Photocell 40mm Kit is a replacement flame sensor designed for use in compatible oil burner systems. It works by detecting the presence of a flame through light sensing, sending signals to the control box to confirm safe combustion during operation.
If no flame is detected, the system will automatically shut down the burner to prevent unburnt fuel release, making this a critical safety component. Over time, photocells can become weak or contaminated with soot, leading to burner lockouts, failed ignition, or intermittent operation.
