About Ideal Parts

Ideal was founded in Hull in 1906 as The National Radiator Company and still makes its boilers in Hull today. It built its name on British-made gas boilers, launched its Logic range in 2009 and is now part of Groupe Atlantic. Ideal boilers are fitted in homes and commercial buildings across the UK, so ignition, sensing, sealing and flow components are among the parts most often replaced at a service or repair. Because these parts are matched to the exact boiler model and output, choosing the correct genuine or compatible part matters as much as the fault itself.

Looking for parts from other boiler brands? Browse our Baxi Parts, Worcester Bosch Parts and Hamworthy Parts ranges, or all HVAC and heating parts.

Common Ideal Parts We Stock

  • Ignition & detection — ignition and detection electrodes, ignition leads, ignitor units, spark generators and detection lead harnesses that light the burner and prove the flame
  • Sensors & thermistors — no flow and return control thermistors, plus Hall effect flow sensors, flow sensor kits, turbine kits and flow turbine cartridges
  • Gaskets, seals & O-rings — burner gaskets, burner seal kits for 60/80kW and 100/120kW boilers, fan gaskets, venturi gasket washers, flute and sump seals, heat engine gasket kits and plate heat exchanger O-ring kits
  • Flute, manifold & sump parts — flute manifolds, flute turrets, retaining clamps, and sump and cover replacement kits
  • Injector assembly kits — kits for 24kW and 35kW boilers
  • Valves & hydraulic parts — diverter valve assemblies, cartridges and motors, pressure relief valves and kits, auto air vent kits, filling loop packs, pressure gauge kits, CH flow packs and DWH packs
  • Major components — pump head kits and heat engine kits for larger repairs

How to Find the Right Ideal Part

Ideal parts are matched to the exact boiler model and output, so start by checking the model and kW rating on your boiler's data plate, then cross-check the part number on the component you're replacing. Several parts come in sizes by output, such as the burner seal kits and injector assembly kits, so confirm the rating before ordering. We stock both genuine and compatible options on many parts, so you can choose on price and preference. If you're not sure which part you need, use our Can't Identify Your Spare Part? service, or send our trade counter team the model number or a photo of the old component and we'll match it for you.

Ideal Parts — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which Ideal part I need?

Check your boiler's data plate for the exact model and kW rating, then match the part number on the component you're replacing. If you're unsure, send us the details and we'll confirm the correct part.

Are these genuine or compatible Ideal parts?

We stock a mix of both — genuine Ideal components alongside compatible alternatives on selected items, so you can filter by part origin and choose based on price and preference.

What causes ignition faults on an Ideal boiler?

A worn or fouled ignition or detection electrode is a common cause of ignition lockouts, as the electrodes light the burner and confirm the flame is present. The ignition lead, ignitor unit or spark generator can also be a factor, so check these if the fault persists.

What does a flow sensor do?

The flow sensor tells the boiler when hot water is being drawn, so a faulty one can cause no hot water, intermittent heating or temperature problems. Flow sensor kits, turbine kits and cartridges are all available.

Should I replace boiler components myself?

Gas boiler servicing and repair should be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, as these components sit within the combustion and gas circuits and affect the safe operation of the appliance.
