An Immersion Heater or Heating Element takes in electricity and generates heat, which, when immersed within a body of water, will begin to heat the water. It's often coil-shaped and inserted directly into a store of water, heating the water through electrical charge and resistance, much like a kettle. These are core components of most water heating systems, and most electrical water heaters will have some form of immersion element for their hot water needs.
