The XLerator, a US-made dryer, was the first modern dryer to achieve a power consumption of just 500W (that’s less than a third of the Dyson Airblade consumption) and it does not have a heating element. This gives it one of the lowest running costs of all dryers, although its relatively high purchase price places it in the ‘Premium’ dryer category. The powerful motor and short drying time also means that it is one of the loudest hand dryers available on the market.
