HACCP approved hand dryers HACCP is the acronym for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, and it is an international risk management methodology used within market sectors such as catering, food and related industries for the control of food safety hazards to acceptable risk levels. Until recently, there were no HACCP approved hand dryers other than the Dyson Airblade, but recently this has changed.

The Biodrier Executive hand dryer has now also been awarded this level of HACCP certification (see the certificate below).

In many environments, certification is not particularly important, but obviously in certain food-related situations, organisations are keen to ensure conformity at the highest level.

The Biodrier Executive hand dryer has always been a favourite with our customers, and one of the few realistic alternatives to the Dyson Airblade, but this certification has been another step Biodrier Executive HACCP Certificate forward for it, and is coupled with a set of improvements which were released during last year.

For example, the power consumption of the Executive hand dryer was reduced further (from 1200 to 1000 watts) but at the same time the airspeed has been increased. There were also a number of improvements introduced to the size and effectiveness of the HEPA filter, but perhaps the most significant change was that the motor is now a brushless motor. This gives a huge improvement in the reliability and longevity of the hand dryer.

Apart from the actual HACCP certification, there are a number of other issues which hand dryers can help or hinder in terms of cleanliness in the washroom. For example, the provision (or lack) of a drip tray on hands-in dryers can affect the risk of slippage accident.
