Fawn Litchfield, Mitsubishi Electric Direct UK Deals recently started working in partnership with Mitsubishi in supplying the Mitsubishi Jet Towel. As part of this we met with some of the team responsible for the Jet Towel in the UK and were pleased to learn that they knew their stuff!

We asked Fawn Litchfield, the Jet Towel Business Development Manager to share the answers to a few important questions. Fawn has been working with the Jet Towel for several years and admits to being able to identify the major hand dryers by the noise they make, so she's our kind of person!

In which market sectors is the Jet Towel doing particularly well?

The Jet Towel hand dryer from Mitsubishi Electric has a wide appeal; it is suitable for almost every situation. It is proving particularly popular in retail and office environments, where its low noise is much appreciated by the users. Their facilities’ managers also like the energy efficiency and low maintenance, while designers find its understated appearance fits most decors.

Jet Towel is also proving very popular in schools and colleges. Part of the attraction here is that the high speed drying means break-time rushes can be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Mitsubishi Jet Towel Hand Dryer

Hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical and medical facilities particularly like Jet Towel’s hygiene performance and NSF certification, as do food factories and other locations where cleanliness is paramount.

What is it about the Jet Towel which really grabs customers’ attention?

Most potential new customers are immediately taken by Jet Towel as soon as they see it. Judging by that, I would say that most people like its appearance and can envisage it fitting into their facilities’ decor. The white, black, or silver options really ensure a good match.

They are always delighted to learn that it is on the Energy Technology List, that is to say, its efficiency is world class, so users can claim tax relief on its cost. When it comes to a demonstration, speed of drying always provides a wow factor moment.

The fact that Jet Towel is finished with an antimicrobial material and that the water from users’ hands is directed straight into an integral drip tray, rather than being allowed to drip onto the floor or blown into the air, is guaranteed to get everyone thinking about bacterial transfer in their own particular situation.

How would you position the Jet Towel in the rest of the hand dryer market at the moment?

Mitsubishi Jet Towel For most installers reliability is the major concern; they want a dryer with a low maintenance requirement and a long life expectancy. Jet Towel delivers both of these. Energy efficiency and quiet low-noise output are also key criteria in the selection process.

Also important is Jet Towel’s pedigree. Mitsubishi launched the original Jet Towel back in 1993; it was the first ever high-speed dryer and redefined conventional thinking on hand drying. In fact, the Japanese market was so taken by Jet Towel that production could barely keep up with demand and the global rollout had to be managed over a longer time frame than originally intended.

We are now on the Generation 8 design. Jet Towel has developed steadily since its early days and has always been the benchmark for excellence.

What can we expect from Mitsubishi Electric in the future in terms of hand dryers?

Mitsubishi Electric is over 100 years old and has always been a leader in terms of technology advancement in every one of its markets. We employ many, many engineers, designers and developers around the world, and it is part of the company’s core ethos to use both blue sky thinking and market feedback to improve existing products and develop new ones.

As far as the Mitsubishi Jet Towel is concerned, you always know that there is something new around the corner – and whatever it is, it will be good.
