There is a name that’s rather well known in the world of hand dryers: Xlerator. They’re pretty unmistakable and there is a very strong chance that most people have seen and used them.
This popular American produced dryer hasn’t really changed design-wise much over the years: although there was a low wattage version of each colour introduced a few years ago, these have been dropped in all finishes other than the white. Instead, the standard range has the option to switch the element off, or choose one of 3 other heat settings. These hand dryers have always been known as one of the noisier dryers around, but now there is also the facility to reduce air speed and noise (these, of course go hand in hand!) but reducing the airspeed will naturally have a negative impact on drying times.
The big news, however, is that the warranty period has been increased to an industry leading 7 years and this is coupled with a claim of ‘50% longer life’. This new extended warranty covers all parts, and most importantly, the motor.
As far as the serviceable life of the dryers is concerned, the manufacturers now state the amount of dry cycles possible using an 8 second dry time should be 810,000. So for a 7 year period a dryer would have to operate at a rate of 13 times/hour, 24 hours a day for 7 years to run this many cycles.
Here’s a quick reminder of the features of the standard Xlerators:
- 8 second dry time
- 3 Heat settings
- Adjustable Speed and Sound Control
- 500W – 1490W
- Available in 4 colours/finishes
- 313 H, 290 W, 170 D (mm)
- 7 year warranty
There has been no increase in cost for this extended warranty and we anticipate that the
Xlerator hand dryers will continue to be a popular choice.
