Genuine Alpha 1.028561 3 bar safety relief valve for Alpha E-Tec, Evoke, Eco 2 and InTec 2 gas boilers.
What it does
The safety relief valve protects the sealed heating circuit. If system pressure rises past 3 bar it opens and discharges water to the outside discharge pipe, protecting the boiler, pipework and radiators.
Signs it needs replacing
A valve that drips or discharges at normal pressure, or a system that keeps losing pressure with no visible leak, often points to a failed relief valve. Check the expansion vessel charge too, as a flat vessel can make a healthy valve lift.
