This is a compatible replacement thermostat for Heatrae Sadia Multipoint electric water heaters in 10, 15, 30 and 50 litre sizes, carrying the part reference 95612667. It is manufactured by Cotherm under their own code GTLH0166. It is not an original Heatrae Sadia product.
What it does
The thermostat senses the temperature of the stored water and switches the immersion element on and off to hold the selected setting. On a Multipoint, this is what keeps the unvented store at temperature between draw-offs, so a failed stat shows up quickly as either scalding water or no hot water at all.
Symptoms of a failed thermostat
- Water much hotter than the dial setting, with the element running continuously
- No hot water, with the element never energising
- Temperature drifting or swinging between draw-offs
- The overheat cut-out tripping repeatedly
Compatible models
Fits Heatrae Sadia Multipoint 10, 15, 30 and 50 litre electric water heaters, including the XV variants and the 30 and 50 litre horizontal X/H models, and the B3M and C3M. Check the code on your existing thermostat before ordering.
Installation
Isolate the appliance electrically before working on it. The Multipoint is an unvented water heater, so any work involving the pressure system requires a G3 qualified operative under Building Regulations Part G. A straightforward thermostat swap that does not disturb the unvented controls should still be carried out by a qualified electrician.
