It is certainly generally true that you get what you pay for. But, in the hand dryer world, there are certain hand dryer brands which cost more because of the brand image. And there are certain brands which represent better-than-normal value for money, but even more important when buying a hand dryer is that you need to make sure you buy something which will fit your needs: a cheap hand dryer may be great value in a low-usage area, for example, but will break down and cause more trouble than it is worth if used non-stop, 24 hours a day.
Having said all that – you almost certainly already have a particular budget in mind, and if that is set in stone then it may well override other considerations.
We have divided the price options above into the following categories:
Sub £100 – this is very much the ‘budget’ category, and should only be purchased for low-usage environments. The dryer will do the job, but don’t expect stellar performance or top component quality.
£100 - £300 – as you go up this range, so the quality improves, and dryers near the top of this range will certainly be suitable for very high levels of traffic and are likely to have features such as switchable heating elements and air filtration.
£300+ - suitable for high usage environments and also high-prestige washrooms where image and design are important.
