If you need to change your Zip water filter, there is no need to call in a plumber or installer – it is about as difficult as changing a light bulb.
The video below explains the whole process very clearly for the G4 range of taps. And note that it is for the ‘Taste and odour’ filter, which is the one inside the unit behind the door, rather than the scale filter (which you should have if you are in a hard water area, but not if you are in a soft water area).
It is important not to confuse the internal taste and odour filter with the external scale filter, which is NOT inside the unit, but is external, connected to the water inlet and outlet at the top/back of the undersink unit.
It is also important to know that there are several different types of taste & odour filter, because Zip has a strange predilection for changing the design and fitting on a frequent (but not regular) basis. And they don’t usually make this public knowledge, so we usually only discover by accident.
This unfortunately makes it very easy to buy the wrong type of filter, so if you are in any doubt then make sure you are ordering the right replacement filter by checking out this advice which should help.
