The new Dyson Airblade V HU02 hand dryer is an updated version of the V dryer: the second version of Dyson’s ‘hands-under’ dryer (hence “HU02”).
The V dryer has proven to be a major seller for Dyson – people have loved the slim, stylish looks and innovative ‘blade’ technology, and perhaps more than anything – they have loved the DYSON label: one of the most iconic UK brands.
Well, the good news is they have made it quieter. In fact, they have done such a good job that it has now been awarded the Quiet Mark, something few modern high-powered hand dryers have achieved. it is now measured at 79 decibels.
When the Dyson V Dryer first came out, the 1600w motor was considered to be a 'low power' motor, but since then, it has been overtaken by other manufacturers who have produced products consuming much less power. Dyson is not a company to stand still and be overtaken, so they have responded with a new motor in the HU02 which consumes just 1000w. By making other adjustments to the dryer, such as making the 'blades' of air even thinner, and therefore faster, they have made up for this reduced energy usage, and overall (accounting for the fact that the official dry-time is now 12 seconds) the HU02 delivers energy savings over 25% over the previous model.
Not surprisingly, the price has increased a little, although compared with other price increases we have seen recently (largely blamed by those manufacturers on foreign currency changes) this is a very modest increase.
Of great interest to installers, Dyson has also added a feature which will speed up the installation time and reduce costs in new-build environments: the backplate can be wired in separately, so the main unit can then simply be added in later.
Worthy of note is that although the dimensions, shape and finish of the dryer remain the same, the units do look cosmetically slightly different, with the Dyson logo now appearing in white, in the centre of the unit. This is worth remembering if you are adding more Dysons next to existing units.
Dyson Airblade hand dryers are an innovative solution for drying wet hands in commercial and public restrooms. These electric hand dryers use high-velocity airflow to effectively remove water from the hands in a short amount of time. They are designed with a sleek, modern appearance and feature touchless operation and HEPA filtration for added hygiene. In addition to being effective and hygienic, Dyson Airblade hand dryers are also energy-efficient and eco-friendly. They use less energy than traditional hand dryers and produce less waste than paper towels, making them a sustainable choice for drying hands.
