Direct, indirect or heat pump?
- Direct models are heated by two 3kW immersion heaters, so they suit homes off the gas grid. 170 to 300 litres.
- Indirect models are heated by a system or heat-only boiler through a coil-in-coil heat exchanger, with a 3kW immersion heater as back-up. 170 to 300 litres.
- ASHP models are built for residential air source heat pumps, including Baxi models. They have a large surface area coil, two 3kW immersion heaters for boost, a secondary return connection and 60mm of insulation, and come with an expansion vessel (18 litres on the 210, 24 litres on the 250 and 300). 210 to 300 litres, with a 10-year tank warranty.
Megaflo Essential or Megaflo Eco?
The Essential is the lower cost way into Megaflo. Against the Megaflo Eco, its direct and indirect models have 50mm of insulation rather than 60mm and a 20-year tank warranty rather than 30, and they are slimmer at 553mm across, against 579mm for the standard Eco. Choose the Megaflo Eco for the longest tank warranty or a cylinder under 170 litres.
Before you order
- Check the height: from 1414mm on the 170 litre to 2086mm on the 300 litre.
- All connections take 22mm pipe, with compression nuts and olives supplied on the direct and indirect models.
- Every model is KIWA approved and complies with Water Regulation 4 and Building Regulations G3.
