Airblade V Ever since Dyson launched the Dyson V dryer, (also known as the AB08 and the AB12) we have been expecting one of the other major hand dryer manufacturers to release a dryer which takes it on and gives it a good run for its money. But nothing has come very close.

Dyson Airblade V AB08 In fairness, it has been a pretty tough challenge: Dyson took the ‘Blade of air’ concept from the highly successful AB14 hands-in dryer and put it into a ‘hands-under’ model. The drying time is fast, the design is stylish, and it has the Dyson logo on the front.

All in all, a great combination of features, which is just as well because at an eye-watering (list) price of £569 ex VAT, you need to be at the serious end of the market in terms of budget.

That’s not to say that there are no other hand dryers in that price bracket: the Warner Howard Airstream, and the Excel XLerator are both around that level. And the XLerator is a popular dryer in its own right (although less popular since they removed the heating element in search of the ‘low energy’ crown).

At Electrical Deals Direct, we have built an enviable reputation for no-nonsense advice which saves our customers significant money, and gets them a more suitable product in the process. And to be honest, even though the Dyson Airblade V is expensive, we have been unable to offer much in the way of a serious alternative

That is, until now.

The Mitsubishi Jet Towel Smart is the hand dryer we have been waiting for. You can read all the Mitsubishi Jet Towel Smart detail by clicking here, but is has an excellent drying time, is superbly designed and built, and is more economical than anything else we have seen. Mitsubishi did well with the ‘hands-in’ Dyson alternative, but with the Smart, they have certainly exceeded our expectations and produced a dryer which is not just better in all the main aspects compared to the Dyson V, but  is also substantially cheaper.

We think they have produced a real winner, and we’ll be producing a datasheet on it shortly, but meanwhile if you have any questions on either of these dryers, give one of our experts a call on 01934 253600.
